NEKTON-Gelb is a pet feed supplement to intensify color for yellow areas in the feather. It was specially developed to support during the molting. NEKTON-Gelb prevents feather colors from fading and can help to support the bird’s health in a natural way during the molting period.
NEKTON-Gelb contains ground marigold flowers. Tagetes is a natural product that contains various carotenoids and can intensify the yellow plumage color. Carotinoids are of vital importance for colored feathers. The main pigment of the marigold flowers is xanthophyll lutein. Feeding experiments have shown that the yellow plumage in birds only occurs when lutein is ingested with the food.
Carotenoids are not only known for their coloring effect, they are also awarded physiological effects (as biological antioxidants or immenstimulierende effects). Tagetes also contains active ingredients that are involved in the formation of new plumage.
In addition to brewer's yeast, NEKTON-Gelb contains brewer's yeast cell walls, which consist of mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) and ß-glucans. The need for individual amino acids during the moult is particularly high. An insufficient supply of the bird with amino acids can lead to a delayed change of feathers as well as disturbances of the feather morphology (such as, for example, curved or very soft feathers). NEKTON-Gelb contains 18 amino acids, which can support the formation of new plumage during the strenuous moulting period.
In order to obtain an optimal coloring, NEKTON-Gelb should be used with the beginning of the molting.
A daily diet must contain sufficient vitamins, minerals and trace elements for a functioning metabolism and therefore a combination of NEKTON-Gelb with NEKTON-Biotin or NEKTON-S is recommended.
Feeding recommendation
1 g to 3 g of NEKTON-Gelb with 100 g soft food. One level measuring spoon (enclosed) corresponds to 1 g NEKTON-Gelb.
It is advisable not to administer NEKTON-Gelb with water, as the supplement contains natural components that are not water-soluble.
NEKTON-Gelb is administered shortly before and during molting.

Storage:
NEKTON-Gelb should be stored dry and out of sunlight, between 15° and 25°.
